Portability

The Canadian Division supports the acceptability of the Institutes’ qualification, wherever obtained, and undertakes to represent these qualifications and holders of them to employers, government and the public ad equivalent to those awarded by the Canadian Division.

However, it will be appreciated that a Chartered Secretary seeking a position as a corporate secretary in Canada is not likely to be hired as such until familiar with Canadian law and practice.

It is strongly recommended that members, graduates, and students transferring to the Canadian Division and/or seeking employment in Canada have their educational credentials, including their ICSA designation, converted into Canadian equivalents.
