Apply your strategy and planning expertise to truly make a difference in this newly created position at Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC), Nunavut’s only electrical utility. As part of a newly restructured senior management team, you will collaborate with and support all departments with strategy development, planning and business process improvement.
QEC operates in a unique environment and a demanding climate to bring power to 11,500 customers in 25 largely Inuit communities in the most remote parts of the Canadian Arctic. With $77 million in revenues and 160 employees, this territorial crown corporation is a solid business with a growing mandate, requiring solid leadership and a careful eye to quality and best business practices to maintain this energy company’s tremendous reliability record, in one of the world’s more challenging and captivating environments.
Based in Iqaluit, NU and reporting to the President and CEO, you will lead and empower a team of professionals handling the legal, communications and policy functions for the corporation. Ensure that you are continuously working collaboratively with the President/CEO and the senior management team to identify and suggest the injection of more efficient business processes and best practices throughout the entire organization.
As the ideal candidate you bring success as a Senior Manager or Executive with a breadth of senior level experience related to corporate services including legal, policy, and communications and/or government relations.
