WORKSHOPS - SPEAKER David Petrie David Petrie is the Executive Director for Chartered Secretaries Canada (CSC). He has been active in the business and not-for-profit sectors as a manager, a consultant and a director for over thirty years and brings both an appreciation for the importance of sound management and a big-picture view to his responsibilities with CSC. Prior to joining CSC, David was an independent consultant specializing in strategic and operational planning and new venture start-ups. His clients ranged from owner-operated small businesses to clients with aggregate sales of over $100 million. His association experience has included clients in condominium, recreation and construction hardware, and he has managed associations in food services and public housing. His earliest business experience was in international shipping, where he represented both liner and charter operators, and innovated a new-to-Canada service. David attended Ryerson Polytechnic Institute and has earned the designations CIM, P.Mgr., and F.CIM from the Canadian Institute of Management. He is currently enrolled in CSC’s International Qualifying Scheme.
