Managing Board Information Needs and Expectations: Improving board due diligence and risk management through effective communications Many organizations develop and execute elaborate communications strategies targeting specific stakeholder groups. It’s rare, however, that these communications plans include the Board of Directors. There is a direct correlation between the quality, quantity and timeliness of Management communication and the effectiveness of a Board’s oversight. Directors need a steady diet of credible, comprehensive and timely information that will equip them to ask intelligent, probing and relevant questions. This includes regular updates on strategy implementation and operational results, presented clearly by setting context and introducing each issue and supporting recommendations for Board approval with tight, fact-based arguments. Between meetings, there needs to be a continuity of communications to enable Directors to stay apprised of developments and emerging issues. This half-day, interactive session, will provide detailed instruction on Board communications strategies for the corporate secretary. Registration Members: $265.00 Please note that 6% GST (11896 9427RT) has been included. Time: 1 pm There is reduced pricing if this workshop is taken in conjunction with the morning session of Effective Meetings and Minutes: For a complete listing of courses and workshops, visit our calendar of events.
